A K Gulam Kibria, FCA

Mr. A.K. Gulam Kibria, FCA, comes from a respectable ‘Sufi Muslim’ family on January 05, 1956, in the District of Mymensingh. A commerce graduate from the University of Dhaka, Kibria qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982. He was awarded the coveted ICAB medal ‘SILVER’ for passing C.A inter Examination in the first eligible chance, securing highest mark. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, he joined as Principle of G. KIBRIA & Co., a Chartered Accountants Firm and at present he is the Managing Partner of the same firm.

Mr. Kibria has served as elected President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) for the year 2003. He also served the Institute in various capacity like Vice President for the year 2001, elected Council Member for consecutive 2 (two) terms and the Chairman of Dhaka Regional Committee of ICAB. He participated as head of delegation in intergovernmental working group of experts on ISAR, UNCTAD in Geneva in 2003. He also led the delegation of SAFA assembly session in Karachi, Pakistan and attended as member of delegation in India and Nepal.

Mr. Kibria served as nominated Director of State-owned enterprises viz. Dhaka Electric Supply Co. Ltd. (DESCO), Dhaka WASA, Power Grid Co. Bangladesh Ltd. He was the Counselor of Dhaka Stock Exchange Ltd. He also acted as member of various Steering Committees under Ministry of Education and Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. He was the member of Governing Body of Bangladesh Development Academy, Khilkhet, Dhaka and he was the Director of Rupali Bank Ltd. and Agrani Bank Ltd.

Md. Abul Quasem, FCA

Mr. Md. Abul Quasem is a Fellow practicing member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). He qualified as an Associate Member from ICAB in 1979. Mr. Quasem completed his Bachelor’s in Commerce from The University of Dhaka in 1970.

Mr. Quasem has over 40 years of experience in the field of professional accounting. Mr. Quasem joined our firm in 2005 and is the second longest tenured partner at the firm after the founding partner, Mr. Kibria.

Being a seasoned professional service provider, he possesses extensive expertise in performing statutory audits, internal audits and special audits, Mr. Quasem is also an expert in corporate and secretarial matters such as assisting with company formation, taxation matters etc. Mr. Quasem is officially recognized as a listed auditor of BSEC under G. Kibria & Co.

Sultan Moheuddin, FCA

Mr. Moheuddin is a Fellow practicing member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). He qualified as an Associate Member in the examination held in November-December 2012. He completed both graduation and Post-graduation in Accounting from Jagannath University.

Moheuddin has over 20 years of experience across MNCs (American Airlines, FedEx), joint ventures, and local conglomerates, holding mid to senior-level roles.

He specializes in statutory and internal audits, business consultancy, SOP development, due diligence, company formation, taxation, and financial reviews, with a strong focus on valuation and Tax & VAT advisory. He is a BSEC-listed auditor under G. Kibria & Co., with multiple IPO-approved audits to his credit.

His clients include Bashundhara Group, Nitol Niloy Group, Dhaka Bypass Expressway Development Company Ltd. (PPP), Matsuoka Corporation Ltd., Kotobuki Bangladesh Ltd., Hwa Well Textiles (BD) Ltd., Ishwardi Matsuoka BD. Ltd., Evitex Fashion Ltd., and various listed companies and mutual funds.

He is a regular faculty member at ICAB and conducts training both locally and internationally, teaching Income Taxation.

Showket Akber, FCA

Mohammad Showket Akber, Fellow Chartered Accountants as well as Associate Chartered Secretaries is a Partner at G. Kibria & Co., Chartered Accountants, with 23+ years of diverse experience in Corporate Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, and Company Secretarial matters. He delivers high-quality professional services, ensuring compliance and providing valuable financial insights to businesses. Showket's expertise includes International Accounting Standards (IAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), group financial planning, and rigorous audit practices. With vast experience in various industries, including Banking, Insurance, Garments, and more, he excels in Corporate Finance, Cash Flow Analysis, Income Tax, Value Added Tax and lot more.

Showket is also a Senior faculty member at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) for over nine years, contributing to the development of future professionals.

Shah Rafsan Kibria, ACA (Bangladesh), CPA & CA (Canada)

Mr. Rafsan Kibria is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh, obtaining membership from the institute in 2018. Mr. Kibria is also an associate member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, Canada since 2018. Mr. Kibria completed his CA education at Ernst & Young LLP in Toronto, Canada, where he worked for five (5) years and obtained his professional designation. Mr. Kibria joined the firm in 2018 after moving back to Bangladesh. Mr. Rafsan completed his Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Masters in Management and Public Accounting from the University of Toronto, Canada.

Mr. Rafsan is an expert in Assurance Services, Valuation Services and designing internal procedures and standard operating procedures. Mr. Rafsan is an expert in ISA and IFRS and has given greater emphasis on quality assurance for assurance engagements as well as the firm. In addition, Mr. Rafsan also provides consulting services for IPO clients. Finally, Mr. Rafsan (along with Mr. Shahrear) heads the firm’s bookkeeping and corporate services.

Riaz Hosen, ACA

Md. Riaz Hosen is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the year 2022, having completed his CA articleship between 2016 and 2019 with Syful Shamsul Alam & Co. Chartered Accountants firm. He completed his BBA in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Comilla. Before joining G Kibria & Co., Mr. Riaz worked at Orion Group and Ejab Group.

Mr. Riaz is currently serving as an Audit & Assurance director, while also being involved in consultancy and advisory work. His Client Services area includes Financial Reporting, Audit and Assurance, Internal Audit, Review engagement and other services.
